Some may argue that being selfless is one of the most important things you can learn during your time on this earth. How often do you sacrifice your time and resources for your family, friends, significant other, children, or even for strangers as seen in this Thailand commercial?
There is a special kind of joy that comes from giving to others without expectation of anything in return. You really ought to give it a try sometime if you haven’t made a habit of it already.
For those of you who believe in karma, the world will bless your life by returning the favor in unforeseen ways later in your life. Karma was the essence of this commercial by TrueMove H too.
When a young boy was caught stealing medicine, one kind man realized the boy was only stealing to give it to his mother who was sick since he didn’t have enough money to pay for it himself. The man generously offered to pay for the cost of the goods, along with some veggie soup, and sent the boy on his way. The man saw a person in need and gave what he could without hesitation, not once expecting anything in return.
Decades later the man became very ill. His daughter found herself in a similar situation not being able to afford the expensive medical treatments her dad required to live. As luck and karma would have it, the man’s doctor was none other than the same young boy who he gave the medicine to years prior.
As a token of gratitude for helping pay for his mother’s medicine when he needed it most, the boy now returned the favor years later by paying for all the man’s medical expenses (nearly $24,000 USD) and performing the procedure to save his life for free.
Under the summary for waived medical expenses the man’s daughter read:
“All expenses paid 30 years ago. With 3 packs of painkillers. And a bag of veggie soup” - Dr. Prajak Arunthong
You hold the power to change someone’s day, or perhaps even the course of their life, with one small act of kindness. If you only remember one thing from this video, make sure it's this. Give often, give generously, and without expectation.
