Yahya Bakkar is a motivational speaker and in this video he gives advice on how to overcome anxiety. Yahya describes anxiety as “your resistance to the present moment”.
By shifting nervous energy into excitement, Yahya is able to overcome his anxiety before talking in front of crowds. The same strategy can be applied to any situation that you experience.
Another suggestion Yahya gives is to try shifting your thoughts away from the past, or what might happen in the future, and simply focus on the present moment. While focusing on the present moment pay close attention to your breath.
When you’re focusing on your breath try to watch your thoughts pass by like clouds. Acknowledge these thoughts, accept them, and shift your attention back your breath in the present moment.
