Your heart wants what it wants. But that doesn’t mean you get what you want. I guess it’s a matter of acknowledging things as they are.
He has moved on, he has a girlfriend, and they have kids together. I don’t want to destroy any of that; I have to respect his wishes. I want him to be happy, I want his family to stay intact.
I yearn for his love, I yearn for him, I yearn for a future with him. I yearn for him to want me, I yearn for him to purse me all on his own. But we cannot be, and I have to accept that fact.
I yearn for closure, I yearn for healing of old wounds. I yearn to have a conversation with him about it all. But that cannot happen, for he does not want to discuss the past. I have to respect his choice, and find peace within myself.
