There was a story in the New York Post from late September 1998 (approx) that described a jewish man arrested for writing nazi graffiti in the subway.
I worked in an office that had a lot of racist graffiti in the bathroom and somebody openly opined that there was a good likelihood the author wasn’t white.
In junior high school a female classmate framed me for vandalism.
A Middle Eastern woman in NYC claimed she was assaulted for being Muslim near Trinity Church (which if you’ve ever been there you know the surrounding area you know it is constantly crowded).
Unable to locate any eyewitnesses local police determined the story was in all likelihood a fabrication.
I say this not to stir the pot but to educate, just because someone is “protected” or “victim status” does not mean they are above using said status to further their own malevolent ends.
Watch your back. Whoever you are...
