Bizarre PSA

New York City released an incredibly bizarre and puzzling PSA concerning nuclear preparedness.

It's hilariously obtuse and tone deaf.

Honestly it reminds me of those laughably awful Duck and Cover nuke preparedness ads from the '50s.

It also reminds me of the incredibly impractical Protect And Survive shorts from Britain that ran in the '70s

This add tells you:

Get inside and stay away from windows. (duhh, no shit)

Don't get into a vehicle. (Why not? Remember Dr. Oakes and his nuclear blast proof motorcar in The Day After?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)

It says to "get clean" with soap and shampoo. (Yeah I remember during The Cold War Selsun Blue and Dial were said to increase one's survivability rate in the event of mutual assured destruction-so aren't you glad you used Dial?😜)

The last tip is "Stay tuned" (Stay tuned for what? Apparently everyone has forgotten about a fun little variable called the EMP (electro magnetic pulse effect) any television, radio, iPhone/Android, automobile not immediately destroyed in the blast would be rendered inoperable. Glad I printed out all my favorite supermodel/actress pics when the library reopened a year ago😅😅😅😅)

Seriously what were these fuckwits thinking?

And by the way, Putin knows, he nukes us, we nuke him. Game over.

North Korea would have to sneak a warhead on a boat and somehow get it into U.S. Coastal waters and yes I have been openly critical of America in the past but I'm near certain they won't allow that to happen.

Lastly China, they're more likely to call in America's debt and watch'em squirm. I knew a guy from China and he was fiercely critical of his own people's culture, mores, customs, particularly as it pertains to the CCCP but he always used to joke "we want our money" the bottom line being it doesn't behoove them to vaporize us cause then they'll never get reimbursed.
