Is revenge acceptable?
Why or why not?
What type of situations would make revenge allowed?
In my case call it redemption.

Revenge for what?
Revenge is kind of sick.
ReplyRevenge only brings more suffering.
ReplyWould you want someone to be vengeful to you for your wrong doings?
ReplyWhat righteous act does it give anyone do be vindictive towards me? What right does anyone have to punish someone else for their wrong doings?
Its as the saying goes. "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".
An eye for an eye doesn't help anyone.
I don't believe in revenge. Nor do I seek out for it. I simply was curious to what others perspectives or insight are on the topic.
In fact, all the wrong doings that has ever been done to me by others, not once have I turned around and paied them back for it.
Don't you think revenge is a cowardly act?? Doesn't It comes across like hidding slyly behind a wall and waiting until your victim passes by unknowingly, to stab them in the back and run??
You honestly think they're the type to confront the person they're "hating on"?
I don't do this. If someone has a problem with me and I knew about it. I would confront them. Especially, if it's someone I know and close to.
Strangers, outsiders don't apply. Frankly, I really don't care enough to give them that kind of attention. However if they're purposely looking to start trouble. Well then, what do you expect the outcome to be? Why invite or cause trouble for nothing? I would defend myself appropriately without hurting someone and be a hypocrite.
Is it not fair?
Maybe, that answers your question?
Vindictive people can be looked upon as cowardly. That's their weakness. They wouldn't come face to face directly in person and tell you they have a problem with you.
I'm the opposite, if I have a problem with anyone that mattered to me. I'd tell them face to face in person. If they don't ever hear from me directly. It's because I don't have a problem to begin with.
It's a waste of time, money and energy to seek revenge.
So live and let live. That's how I see it.

ReplyI would honestly reflect on how horrible I am if I hurt someone in that way. Maybe we should just, not purposefully hurt people. Not wrong them to the point where we've done something unforgiveable for no reason so that we don't GIVE people reasons
ReplyYou should let the law handle it.
ReplyIt wouldn't be revenge if it wasn't deserved really. Some people might be thinking of "going overboard" or flat out harassment. If someone lied about you, you show people their ugly truth. If someone hurt you, and continues to hurt you or others and won't stop unless they get hit back, hurt them.
Obligatory don't do it if it isn't warranted bla bla (even if it isn't revenge if it isn't warranted, it is undeserved again and again that's what I say.)
"If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?"
— William Shakespeare, 1564-1616, English poet & playwright ‐ The Merchant of Venice
