You have just finished kindergarten

Everyone loves you because being weird as a kid is normal

Hanging out with more guys as a child is normal

She smiles and laughs for a second before explaining to you that there’s no such thing as cootie

Everyone around you has grown

Most girls have little balloons on their chest

And for some reason there’s a hot dog in that guy’s pants

You begin to feel alone, but like they say everything is going to be alright, Right?

The boy sitting next to you shouts to the class that you’re vagina is bleeding

You run out of the class in hopes of escaping the embarrassment

You see the new guy, the one everyone has a crush on, you look at him while the blood in your pants drips to the floor, and he begins to laugh

High school will be your year right?

You’re a freshman

You’re still know as period, and you think this “new look” will help fix that

You walk into school on the first day, after five minutes of begging your mom to drive you back home with her

Everyone watches you as your heels clink clank against the tile floor and your new balloons almost jiggle out of your shirt

You’re popular now, and that’s all that matter right?

You’re a junior

You can’t even count how many guys you have been with since entering high school

You’re not being bullied anymore, that you know of

Only if you knew what said while your back is turned

But it doesn’t matter because everyone wants to be you right?

You have just got your score back from the 3rd SAT you’ve taken

You have yet to be accepted to any colleges, but there is no way you’ll tell you mom about that

You just found out that your best friend just slept with the only guy you really cared about

You’re still a child so everything will eventually work out, right?

Lying on some random guys bathroom floor waiting for the pregnancy test to finish up

You pray to a god you don’t even believe in begging for it to be a negative, but you know it’s not

You realize that there are so many possible baby daddy’s that you found it useless to tell any of them

There’s been a lot of successful single mom stories out there, you can be one too, right?

It’s your son's third birthday party, but you’re out clubbing with the new hot neighbor while your son is home alone with a babysitter

You decide that after drink 8 glasses of straight vodka you’re still capable of driving yourself home because you need to tuck your son in

You didn’t even realize the guy sitting next to you slip something into your drink couple of minutes ago

Everything is going to be okay

It's 11 pm you're still 26

You're snaking your way through the yellow dotted lines

You begin to drift into the oncoming traffic

You don't even notice through truck coming your way

Until you….

You’re 26

You have your whole life to life still

You have just found out that your son has moved up one gymnastic level, and you are so proud

You kept your promise from the night you found out you were pregnant

You end up having two more children with your new husband and you seemed to live happily ever after

That’s how it was supposed to pan out right?

You don’t make it to 27

You don't make it to your son coming home telling you about the girl with cooties

You don’t make it to hearing your son's’ voice crack everytime he talks

You don’t make it to his first day of high school and be able to force him into school

You don’t get to be the person you could of been

Maybe next time you won’t blink your life away
