Okay so I'm about to turn 19 and I'm still single I've never been in a relationship in my life although there is nothing wrong with the way I look , I'm really tired of this I wanna date even once so that when someone asks be about dating I be honest ( I always lie about having so many exes cause all girls do I feel bad for myself and when I try to be honest and tell a guy that I've never dated anyone he doesn't believe and he's like "why would a pretty girl like you stay single!?") When I was young I wanted to fall in love with someone special that stays forever in my life but reality turned me wrong... I won't lie I need someone who calls me " Babe" and care about me... They say good things take time but isn't it TOO late , its sad that I finished high school without dating anyone its the place where everyone finds their soulmates and make good memories , I don't wanna stay single forever don't get me wrong but its so annoying being single for all of your life who knows maybe I die tomorrow x'D anyways help me guys I'm SO depressed I wanna experience being in a relationship asap so that when I listen to a love song I start thinking about someone real :p

Not myself
In the past 6-8 months I’ve been getting worst when it comes to conflict. The smallest thing will set me off and I feel like it’s all my fault I can’t do...

Eh, don’t be in such a hurry. I didn’t date anyone in high school. I only dated a couple guys in college, and then when I started work I met my husband and we’ve been married for 21 years now. Enjoy your time with your friends and when you aren’t expecting it you will meet the right dude.
ReplyLife is so much longer than highschool. Soulmates aren't found during a specific segment of your life. You keep being you. Find a hobby that you enjoy and find a public setting for it. You do you boo, do you.
ReplyI'm a Girl and I'm 22 I will be turning 23 in December and I am still single and guys look at me too and say how is she single she is pretty mixed with cute. lol Funny But I'm not ready to rush into a relationship that might not be a right Love.
ReplyI feel your pain.
So do millions of others our ages. The truth is research shows there is a disconnect between what one sees in movies or reads in books with what modern behaviors teens today are doing. For example, in the USA (where I live) alcohol use by teens is at a 40 year low. Illegal drug and tobacco use is down from earlier generations. The idea all teens are having sex is totally off. Teens today are not dating in the same ways of older generations. Even teen mothers today is declined.
Yet, tv shows make it like all the teens are hooking up and heading to spring break. No, you are not abnormal or something is wrong. The fact is social interactions for people to meet and mingle has changed. Earlier generations may have had a boy call up.a girl and take her to dinner and a movie. How many teens have money to do that stuff nowadays? Even teens with driver's licenses is at an all time low. Many teens today don't even want a car.
The world is changing. Teens today prefer more group activities. Then, a boy or girl may pull away to talk privately and socialize. It's no longer 'wham, bam, thank you mam' thinking. It's go slow and careful (at least for most!)
The way today is to get involved and meet guys is in social interactions, school clubs, youth groups, meetups, and mingles. Even jobs. Even getting involved in nonprofits or causes you believe in. Don't ever believe hitting bars or night clubs is the rich spot. Shows like "The Bachelor" are fairytale stories. Might as well read romance novels!
The days of girls waiting for guys to ask them out to date is DEAD! It is completely acceptable now for a girl to call, email, or converse with a guy. Just say "Hey, I was thinking of going to (fill in the blank here) ...." Don't go to a movie, concert, or show where you can't talk. If you do, be sure to have time before or after an event to talk! Better things are as simple as going for a walk or hike, or even a slow bike ride. Maybe roller or ice skate. Something as simple as miniature golf or going to a street fair together. It's getting out to get to know each other.
Also, in this day and age, don't put pressure on the dollar bills. People are struggling. Don't expect to eat at a five star restaurant (unless both can afford it!). The better take is to eat someplace romantic and just plain fun: food off a taco truck, hot dog stand, ice cream or yogurt shop. You don't have to eat a five-course meal. Make it fun, easy, and social.
This is where I also encourage people to get off social media like Facebook. Some studies show a correlation between how much time people spend on social media and depression. Let's face it: anyone posting pics on social media is trying to sell others. Do you know how many people I know who go to Paris and pose under the Eiffel Tower? Yet, they never actually see France. They are running around to get pic shots to impress friends instead of just having fun. It's the Keeping up with the fake-ass Kardashians. It's living in bubbles where the real world is really out there.
The number one thing I find is females think it's "If I go ask someone out it must mean I'm desperate" is just hooey phooey. You are not requesting a marriage proposal. It's just being a casual friend. And face it: you have to be incredibly crazy (or lucky!) if your first date is the man of your dreams!
Start out in friend mode. Don't send out the "hot button" signals (like exposed cleavage) or make it steamy. In this day and age don't also expect guys to be Emily Post experts on female interactions. You can say what you like and expect. Be a great listener. If it's just bad chemistry and a total waste, cut the meetup early. No reason to suffer horribly when you know it's a definite no go. I encourage even several dates before kissing. Guys don't like the pressures of not knowing. Take their hand if you feel the love connection. Tell what you feel. Just have fun. Forget looking at it like you are on special assignment! It's just getting to know someone better!
Again, there is nothing wrong with you. It's just the Cinderella complex of the handsome prince finding you has changed. It's now girls are the ones in the driver's seat! It feels funny because times have changed. Today there are more girls in colleges and universities (in the USA) than boys.
I know it's gonna feel a bit awkward at first, but even look up a crush from high school and just call. Ask how he's been doing. Even if he's in a relationship I guarantee he'll love the admiration! If he says he's out of the loop, what about his friend so-and-so.? Its really breaking past the thinking it's the end of the world. By the end you'll be casually be talking to guys you like at coffee houses or bus stops! I really encourage females to just unwind. Don't feel ever you have to go with losers.
One great spot my friend met lots of hot guys she liked was at free yoga in the park. Put your mat next to a hunk who appears to be single! Tell them you are new at this! Even just ask and say you didn't want to be rude to his wife if he's married. Just let the chemistry flow!
I know it's scary at first, but after a while it's a lot of fun! You may be putting too much worry into things too. I'd recommend not getting into past dates or no dates too much. Just say you didn't date in high school because you were busy with other things. Roughly 40 percent of teens in America never date in high school so you are the normal, not the exception. The number of teens who date often in high school is at the lowest level in American history, only about 15 percent. (And let's be real: I bet some of those were liars!)
Nothing is wrong with you! You just need more support to know the world of dating today!!!!
Replyfocus on building a good life. not on a relationship. a life. skills. career. financial stability. friends. you're way too desperate for a relationship and bound to choose the wrong person right now. and you're way too young to be so desperate for a relationship.
Reply^^ I agree.
ReplyDon't rush, your still young. There are times when alone is the best place to be. the best is yet to come for you. Maybe you are feeling like that because most of your peers are in a relationship already. Wait for a good, strong Christ following man who will protect, encourage and motivates you to be a better person than settle for just some boy. Don't try to rush things that need time to grow. when your time is right it will happen to you with the right person and for the best reason. CHEERS!!! Don't stress yourself.
ReplyReally keep the chin up your perfect
I would not want a girlfriend who has been dating a lot
If she never dated that's like pure gold
ReplyThere's still some time to meet your soulmate. I know it's hard waiting for the right guy. But I promise you that you will find a man as incredible as you overtime!
