An Ordinary Woman

I'm not depressed. I'm not stressed. I'm not bullied. I'm not sad. I'm not any person who people think needs help. I'm just an ordinary woman, who has an average life, who has all her basic needs satisfied, who shouldn't worry about her life because it's going fine. But, through all of this, there is one thing that does bother me. I'm tired. I'm a young, healthy, smart person who's already tired of being the ordinary woman. I know that there are a lot of people in the world with many real problems and here I am complaining about being ordinary. But, sometimes I feel that being ordinary and average can be the worst curse that a person can have. I hear this all the time that every person has a some purpose to their life, some reason for which they were born. I sometimes feel that that isn't true for me. Till now, the only purpose to my life I can find is to live it and that scares me. I do not want to spend my life being the ordinary person who has no impact, whatsoever, on anything around her.

First no one is ordinary, to be blunt that more of a social norm you think you fit in. The fact that you're reflective and can look internally makes you better than most. The next step would be to try and figure out where your idea of ordinary comes from.
ReplySounds as if you’re having an existential crisis. Peace to you. I’ve been there.
ReplyYou get to choose how you make a difference in the world.
And there's nothing wrong with being ordinary. Even the most ordinary people can be extraordinary to someone.
Replypeople don't just get a purpose in life they choose it. You can start small like volunteering at a local homeless shelter. Not everyone has to be something big, we just need people in the world doing these small acts of kindness.
ReplyJust because you haven't found a definitive purpose for your life yet doesn't mean that you don't have one. It's a blessing that you aren't depressed, stressed, bullied, sad, etc though.
What are your passions or favorite hobbies?
If you could do something or work a job the rest of your life and $ was no issue...what would you love to do? perhaps that is where you'll find your purpose maybe. Or maybe it'll be to be a great parent some day. Or great aunt. Loving friend.
Nothing wrong with being 'ordinary' in the meantime though. I'm sure you've impacted other people's lives and you didn't even realize it. There's purpose in your life right there if so.
ReplyOrdinary can be extraordinary you make life what it is.
