Pour out your pain. Be a fountain of emotion. Say everything you couldn't say outside. Talk about how you cried when your mother kissed your hand for the last time, how you didn't answer your dad's phone call the day before he died, how you haven't talked to your sister in five years, how your older brother scares you and how you use his abuse against his wife as justification for not talking to him anymore. How you hate your body, how you're addicted to eating and alcohol and how it never makes you feel better like it did when you were a child but you keep doing it because what else can you do. Most of all the terrible loneliness and how you feel like you deserve to be lonely because you're a white male in America but you don't have a job or a home or any money. And you're short and fat and your hair is falling out. And how years of depression have turned you into a serious quiet person often on the verge of crying but unable to talk about it with anyone because it becomes a broken record. No one can handle that kind of burden. Why in the world would anyone want to be around a person like that?

does this mantra provide comfort and strength? a mantra is a word or phrase that brings empowerment and peace. this appears to be a story that brings negative thoughts and emotions, used to justify a negative self perception.
Replyhaha, my mantra turned into kind of a series of complaints. I'll work on it.
ReplyI have been beating the same bush since few days now it's just making me frustrated with myself - my mantra for now is silence
Replysilence won't bring you empowerment but I think it's a grear place to start.
Reply*great
ReplyJust shut up you mean?
Replyno. a single word is often a mantra. for example, for the person who stated their word is silence, to them that may mean to relax in the silence, to listen to one's inner voice in the silence, to become comfortable in the silence, or many other things. So to remind yourself to be in "silence" may be very different for different people.
ReplyMantra was clearly not the word I was looking for. It sounded nice at the time.
