I really want to start eating better. I have a nice body and I don't eat super bad, but I kind of do. I am so addicted to sugar and it's kind of bad. I have no idea how to help myself at this point because my cravings always overcome me. Anyone know how to help??

Persuading a friend or family member to give up a bad habit
Dad, please stop. I don’t know how you feel about anything. Talk to me about it. The bottle doesn’t talk back. I love your laugh and loved your smile. But y...

Picking up old habits.
Well, after all the promises I've made to some of the few people that care about it. I'm becoming a alcoholic again. The cravings started, sleepless nights came...
Hi there,
I've been in a similar situation and I still am on that journey to eat healthier. But once you start it feels great and I hope these advice will help you and motivate you. Just a reminder that I'm not telling you what to do, these are just my personal opinions and advice and what I would do :) Best of luck!
1) Drink lots of water.
I feel as if you've heard of this tons of times but I personally think it really helps. It stopped me from snacking a lot as water made me full. Whenever I feel hungry I realize that I'm just thirsty.
2) Replace snacks with healthier options.
This sounds so easy but I've tried.. and not gonna lie it wasn't for me. So I started off with one package and gradually two to three, to five and more. For some people (like me) it takes time, and that's okay. It's best to not force yourself to suddenly cut off sugars. So just replacing one package of chips for a healthier chip package like a veggie one is a great start. Every small step counts!
3) Distract yourself.
I'm really sorry and I don't really know your case, but in my case, I defiantly seem to snack more often when I'm bored so maybe distract yourself by surfing the internet, playing some sports, trying diys. Anything you find enjoyable.
4) Cook at home.
Instead of going to restaurants and take away you can cook at home. This way you know how much sodium, salt, sugar and other ingredients you consume. Plus I find cooking at home fun and educational. A great way to distract yourself and eat healthier :)
5) Time
Know that it will take time and it's different for everybody. It's hard to change something that you've been doing. So start slowly. It's willpower. The more you use it the stronger it gets. Think before you act. :)
6) Get inspired
Surround yourself with motivation. Look at recipes, go online, watch easy healthy food recipes and it will get there. Things will turn around for you. Just look on the bright side :)
7) Finally... Mistakes
It's okay, we all make mistakes. Sometimes we crave in food we don't necessary need and that's alright. It happens. And when it does, don't regret it. Think of it as an reward. Don't pressure yourself and say 'It's fine' learn to forgive yourself. Next don't give up on eating healthier. Remember 'Eat salad when your body needs it and chocolate when your heart wants it'
These are just my advice on what I would do and you can take it or leave it it's totally up to you. I just want you to know that it's ok to feel the need of eating something sweet because let's be honest.. who doesn't like sweets? :) I really hope these helped and I'm sorry if these were irreverent and I'll be rooting for you!
