For the past week and a half I've been kind of off. I haven't been able to get started on work, and when I do actually start, I can't focus and give up right away. Missed assignments are piling up and my grades are dropping but I can't seem to care. This isn't how I usually act. I'm distracted and procrastinate, but this is way worse. I've also started picking at clear skin instead of just at blemishes and stuff, which I've only done once. I actually picked so much at my nails that I've completely removed my right pinkie toenail. There is nothing there anymore. I've been cutting (and wanting to cut) more over the past month. Just out of stress or because I suddenly get the urge for no reason. I was in the bathroom the other day, looking at a bottle of cleaner and reading the ingredients to see what it would do to me if I drank it. I was really dispassionate and detached, but it was a little more that I usually do.
Does this sound like anything? I don't know. I'm probably making too big of a deal of it.

I have personally gone through this, when I brought it up to my psychiatrist she called it the curiosity of nothing or something along those lines. Many people experience the thoughts of 'what ifs' regarding potentially dangerous or wrong things that would either A. be morally wrong or B. may cause your death.
You may also simply be in a slump, these happen often in January for many people. You can get through it.
ReplyThanks, that was actually really helpful
