We're Still Here
Through the fire, through the flames,
You'll still find us, we remain.
Standing tall and standing strong
Though we're tainted by our wrongs.
Injury will harden us
Creatures you don't recognize.
We don't mean to hurt your heart
There lies regret behind our eyes.
Through the hatred, through the pain
Though they hunt us, we remain.
Hiding in the burning day,
Night is where we're told to stay.
We make a sun that's all our own;
The moon won't warm us in the dark
We make a shelter for the storm
For none would let us board their ark.
Through the winter, through the grief
We're still here and we still breathe.
Frost or fire, flood or drought.
We've come too far to back down now.
You don't understand our ways,
And our pain still makes you blind.
Believe in us, we're worth the fight.
Just human things made of our need.
Through the shadows, through the cold
Our hope a fortress, it still holds
Though sparking roses crack its walls
Footsteps echo in its halls
We keep searching for the dawn
That welcomes us into its' light
We keep yearning for the star
That won't rob us of our sight
Through the fire, through the flames
We're still here, we still remain.
Though we're broken, we are strong
we'rethe silent, hear our song.
