Mum. Look in the mirror - what do you see? Is that who you want me to be? You had a lifetime of choices and choices are not free. When you’re looking at the bottom of the glass, while I’m sitting in class, is this the life you imagined for me? My friends, they’re going home to a family but my messed up reality, is an absent drunk mother, something I never want to be. Mom. Look in the mirror - I need you to see. I need you to be the person who takes care of and watches over your me.

I had the same with drug addicted parents made my school years some not so great when they spent all their money on drugs, even wrecked the truck i was supposed to have gotten from my grandparents. Couldn't even get my class ring paid off. I could go on and on. But i hope your mom gets help for her problem.
ReplyIt's so hard. I don't think you have the power to change her habits. She probably already knows.
ReplyI don't drink except on the weekend. I didn't drink until my children were fully adults. :)
