My Unsent Letter

Daddy, we've both grown so much. You've become the parent you were always meant to be and I somehow managed to become an adult. You used to ask mom if she thought I loved you and now every night you kiss me goodnight on the forehead and it makes it all a little better. All i've ever wanted was for you to love me and it took me such a long time to figure out what our problem was. We are just the same. Vulnerable and instable, sometimes desperate for no reason, just like your own mom and her mom before her. It's a family curse I guess? It took that picture of when you were an heroin addict to make me understand. That look of pain in your eyes I've seen in my own. Now i've forgiven both of us and we have an actual relationship, and a good one. It may very well be my biggest accomplishment yet. Thank you for trying, we're gonna make it all together ❤
