Parents don’t allow Rollerskating

So I turned 14 and my parents asked what I wanted for my birthday. I anxiously said roller skates. I’ve wanted them for a while now yet haven’t told my parents. I spend my free time, if I have any, playing video games or watching T.V. Even though I really enjoy outdoor activities, I dislike going in the front yard because just thinking about all my neighbors staring at me makes me sick. Yet, I somehow and somewhere developed a passion for watching roller skating videos, and appreciate the hobby in general. I’ve loved doing the hobby every time I could get to a rink, and wanted my own pair because I thought this could be my new hobby. However, it just so happens that my parents decide it isn’t safe for me to skate. Therefore, I can’t have them. I appreciate them worrying, but I was truly excited to finally have an outdoor activity to tend to instead of being indoors for so long. Is there anyway I could convince them without begging? Thanks
