I think I'm using Coca Cola as a way to cope with my stress. It's not healthy for me, I may drink as many as 4 a day just to get through the day. I am an athlete and it's ruining my diet. If I can't have Coke, my mood is ruined. It's like withdrawals. I can't go days without it and I'm sick of it. I use it to cure everything knowing it's unhealthy and will have bad effects on me in the future. This has been going on for years... Any advice on how to stop?

Are you sure it just isnt the caffeine? Caffeine is difficult to stop it gives you bad headaches. The best way is to slowly taper yourself off of it in my opinion.
ReplyIt might be the caffeine that you are hooked on. The sugar in coke is very damaging if you drink 4 a day. It would be healthier if you moved to drinking iced coffee with less sugar instead if that helps.
ReplySlowly drink less everyday. Star of with the amount, 4 or 5, for one week (or day, however u want) and reduce every following week (day). It might be hard but at least try. Find something else that can help--and no i don't mean another type of soda.

Replyi am not sure if this is any help but whenever i break my diet or start unhealthy habits (im an athlete as well) i always focus on something else to replace the bad habit. for example I used to bite my nails to the point that I could barley hold anything without them bleeding. it was really bad for my sport too so i just replaced it with journaling whenever i had the urge. maybe instead of coke try going to an healthiness alternative for the candidness withdrawal (tea is my suggestion) so you wonβt have as bad of withdrawal and then try to drink one or two cokes a daub and a cup of green tea and work from there replacing Cokeβs with tea then slowly cut back on tea
ReplyHELLO EVERYONE!! ORIGINAL AUTHOR HERE!! :) THANK YOU ALL. Writing this out and seeing the replies really helped me understand how much I need to change. For the past week or 2, I've been doing pretty good with just 1-2 Cokes a day. I'm so proud of my progress. I've began replacing my cola cravings with more water and fruits. Already, I've been going outside more and appreciating all of the people in my life more. I've noticed I haven't felt so sluggish and have been doing much better in school and with my exercise. My work ethic is much better and I've had little to no stress. It's amazing how much just writing out one problem to the world can motivate and improve someone so quickly. Thank you all so much!! :)!! πππ
