I live in a neighborhood surrounded by lakes. In the summer, especially the days surrounding the 4th of July, the skies are rife with booming, and sparkling and bats swooping in the twilight, birds twittering and panicking in the trees. When I was a kid I used to just walk the streets of my neighborhood and enjoy the fireworks, as if it was my own personal show. I can't really see any fireworks from house now but I hear them as if they are in surround sound, me sitting on my back patio as the sun goes down.
I look out over my yard, watching bats swoop and the fireflies are out in force, hovering over the ferns in the corner of my yard. They are lovely and it is peaceful. And despite the fact that I know how much work still needs to be done on this house, for the first time really since I've lived here, I felt proud of myself. And peaceful, watching the fireflies dance.
I once read (and I have no idea how true this is) that fireflies light up in different patterns or frequencies and they search for a matching frequency to find their mate. I don't know if there is any validity to that but I kind of liked the idea. I imagine it would make dating a whole lot easier in the human world if we had a system like that. In either case, as a firefly eased past me tonight, I made a wish that I too would find someone with the same frequency. And I went back inside with a smile.

Life hurts.
Life hurts. It cuts me, though you can't see. I choke from the blood, but it comes out as stutters. It bruises me with blows, but it comes out as acne scar...

i just wanna die
i've bever felt this awful in my life before. i can't even explain it but i'm restless and hopeless and empty inside and everything is pointless. the only thing...
Where you live sounds a lot like where I live.
I hope you find someone with your same frequency. Don’t completely disregard the other frequencies though...sometimes the harmonics can overlap in good ways too.
ReplyI love this. Thank you.
ReplyI started reading this a couple of times, as just knew I'd get too nostalgic. I used to live on a lake too and it was amazing, and I truly miss it. It was part of the Mississippi River, so it flooded and destroyed my house. Aww, I miss it and am a bit envious, but VERY happy for you. It sounds amazing. Enjoy!
ReplyBeautiful images of a beautiful person you sound so cool. I know there's someone with the same frequency as you. You'll get there a harmonize together and make wonderful music.
