I've been at an all-time low for a few days now and I've been having some really dark thoughts so I decided to take care of myself tonight.
I cooked a nutritious dinner that I've been craving for without caring about my family's food preferences. I ate slowly while watching a feel-good anime. I had chocolate cream puffs and black tea for dessert.
I turned on all the lights in the house. I took the longest shower mankind has ever known. I scrubbed my body and used three kinds of soap. I massaged my scalp, neck, and all the way down to my fingertips. I brushed my teeth longer than I used to. I rubbed my favorite lotion all over my body and brushed my hair gently, letting it air-dry.
I changed my bedsheets. I listened to music. I refused to open my messenger. I slid into bed wearing my most comfortable sleeping clothes.
And I started healing.
