I'm not religious, was raised in a very religious household though. I'm also a recovering alcoholic combat veteran with PTSD. 29 years-old and almost 11 months sober. So why did god give my father cancer?

God does things for reasons we don't understand and it has nothing to do with your being sober or having PTSD. I'm so sorry about your father and I hope he's able to get treatment. And I'm so sorry about your PTSD and proud of you for being sober and thanks so much for your service. My dad died from a brain tumor a few years ago. I truly hope you dad recovers.
ReplyNature isn't perfect. We don't even know what a truly perfect world would look like. Cancer happens when cells in the body become damaged and begin replicating uncontrollably, and even as horrific as its effects are, there is little we can do to prevent it. It's natural. "God" is a personified character that people use to explain what they cannot understand or comprehend. It is the character you can blame, the thing you can kill over and over, the scapegoat of all good and evil. While it may help to have to character to rant to, it won't help you address your internal emotions. Pushing them back by trying to find support in an invisible friend does not help the issue we can demonstrably show exists.
ReplyAmen! So to speak.
Reply♥️🙏 i pray for us well being and recovery ...you see I’m not religious either and so I believe god didn’t give him cancer I think that just some people environmentally get it Or hereditarily get so I mean god has nothing to do with it, and good wishes for your sobriety 😊 I hope you get through this .. life can be cruel sometimes if god is real he has a sick and twisted plan to give innocent people cancer such as little kids and your father so I choose to believe in science and life . All you can do is keep moving forward because even if something were to happen you will still keep living the world will still keep turning and life will be created and continue and I know saying what you already know probably won’t help but it’s all I can offer I hope for the best for you and your family 😊♥️
ReplyI meant his well being*
