In class the other day, I started to have an anxiety attack. The reason for the anxiety attack was because we were turning in assignments and I had told the teacher I didn't understand. The teacher said " You shouldn't have missed so much" (I've only missed 1 day and her class period once). And when I started to freak out, I started to have racing thoughts, and breathing heavily. At the time the teacher had given us an assignment. I had the feeling of an anxiety attack coming on. So, I put my head down and tried to focus on my self and my breathing. And the teacher said " You need to do your work or else i'm going to give you a referral." Well, I didn't do my work. I kept asking her to go to the Guidance office (the teacher wouldn't let me). So, finally I said really loud, I'm having an anxiety attack I need to go to the Guidance office. And the teacher said " I'm still giving you a referral." And what I got was a Wednesday school dentition. Now, I have to stay after school for 45 min. today. And I don't think its fair. And then on top of that, my mom thinks that i'm lying about the anxiety attack and its just a cover up for not understanding the work. Which in this class, its algebra 1, which I've been having trouble in. And my mom thinks that since she hasn't seen me have an anxiety attack in 2+ years, that I don't have anxiety attacks. I tried to explain to her why and how it happened. But my mom made the point that "Since it's so bad and stressful at home, why don't you have anxiety attacks here at home?" And it made me so upset. I don't really know what to do about the situation.

For starters anxiety attacks come and go as they please, there is no continuing timing for them, maybe try sit your mum down after school and explain in further detail about the issues your facing, then when in school next speak to the appropriate adult such as your head teacher or someone who is higher than the teacher at the time of the incident as they are there to help and support and they neglected to do so.
