I often can't describe myself in a very positive light. Sure, I know what I'm good at, but oftentimes those things aren't compatible with what I actually like to do. Lately, I haven't been quite sure of either of those things. Sitting down to write this though, I realize that I've always thought that I what I'm good at is who I am, but that's absolutely untrue. I am who other's say I am, sometimes at least. You can't let others define you, but how they react to you can be a good tell of how you act.
People laugh around me! They smile, they enjoy my goofiness and my aloof beam of joy. Of course, I'm not always joyful, but knowing that I can mask that for the sake of someone else is a very good feeling.
Would I like to share my true feelings with someone, pour my heart out to someone and have them take my hand, figuratively or otherwise? Of course, I would. But I'm not as important. I have the same human dignity as everyone else, and I would jeopardize that if I could help it, but knowing that I'm growing into someone that can put other's feelings and prioritizes above their own, even if that just means smiling a little brighter or offering a silly word of encouragement... Well, I can firmly say that I feel truly blessed.
What else can I say? Perhaps I am good at something. Perhaps there is something that I love to do.
