Hey gamers, anon here. I've been thinking alot lately. I've been talking with my gf about moving in together and starting a life with one another. I love her very much and want her to be happy more than anything. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough and admittingly alittle immature. I love to play video games and trading card games however I realize how much of a financial burden it can be. I grew up very poor and didn't have much so when I finally had been making my own money I fell into a trap of just buying whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I calculated my expenses of how much I've spent on cards and video games in the past 2 months and was shocked and honestly embarrassed how much I spent. Roughly $850. Now I know people can have hobbies but even I think that's excessive. I need help anons, I'm not looking for a pity party, have you been in similar situations? What did you do to get out? How did you change your life around?

Well, the thing is, you realize that this is a problem. That's good. How about you make a financial plan. You can do this by putting away certain categories that will go from what needs to be done now, and spending cash. You can have some money for a rainy day, just do what needs to get done first. I know it's overwhelming because it's what was lacking from your childhood. I feel that. You can make a writing statement. Calculate your income rate a month and separate it. You don't have to give up this "hobby" fully, but just don't invest so much time into it. I hope it works out for you:)
