I really want to call the suicide hotline so I can talk to somebody but I'm scared. I'm scare dtheyll track me down and my whole town will find out I'm scared my mom or dad will find out and hate me and I'll have to see their heartbreaks I'm so scared. What if I'm not sad enough to call. What if I'm not too far gone yet. I'm scared.

You can also use the text HOME to 741741. I never have i know they try to connect you to the closest crisis center if you call. If they think youre in danger then they may want to send police but their job is to help regardless.
ReplyAs long as you don't tell them that you are in immediate danger (that's the first question they'll ask), then I don't think they'll send the cops. I haven't called the number but I've used the text line a bunch of times. I was careful to say that I'm not immediately thinking of doing anything, and I also gave them a fake name if that matters. Nobody ever tracked me down or identified me so I think it's safe.
ReplyThey're there to help, not to judge... you don't have to meet some arbitrary criteria of "sad enough." Also you can dial *82 at the beginning of your call (it's like the opposite of *69) so they can't see your phone number on caller ID.
