Dear Identity

Dear Identity,

I don't know who you are to me, but I want to get to know you. You are not the same for every person, and I want to learn how you are with me. I want to learn how to be close to you and always be by your side no matter what happens. I have said you have harmed other people and that you are not good enough for me, that I would rather die with you in my life. And I'm sorry for rejecting you when you needed me most, for behaving in my own self-interest.

From here on, I want to think in the present with you, to see life as a big puzzle to solve, to understand who we are together. I want to love you more than anyone else, when everyone else leaves and it's just us two looking through a rainy window. I want to understand what it means to let go and let it be, what it means to learn with you by my side. I thank you for where you have brought me thus far, for protecting me when I felt in danger, for helping me discover what it means to care for others and be by their side. I thank you for being with me all the way, for telling me to not give up.
