"What if I kissed you right now?"

Triggers. You gotta love them. Triggers take you into nostalgic moments; the type that keep you idled in your mind. They take you into a time of that regret you may have. The moments when you realize you should be more diligent in your life. Or... the time when a song plays, the exact same one that played when you were entangled in the arms of someone you once cared for. My first reaction today when it played was; "you best delete that from your iPod." But, as I listened, I took the chance to remember why I liked that song. I started dancing a bit, got that pep in my step. A couple moments went by and I took the chance to embrace this song. The feeling. My emotions. Most people find it intelligent to hide them away. Tuck them up where they wont be found for weeks, maybe even months at a time. Because its easier that way right? To avoid them, walk away. Sometimes run. Until your emotions pile up, you get angry easily, your switch from mellow to an "anxiety filled chest" turns on too quickly. Well, I thought it was smart too. ITS NOT. I've taught myself that your emotion is part of what makes you up. It makes you who you are. Its in that subconscious mind where everything you do throughout your day is all the hundreds of "action, re'action" responses that have been conjured up since you were a child. You have a phone book load of feelings compiled up in that subconscious. Allow yourself to feel them. Really. Take the chance. Notice it flutter into your mind... Address it. What thought is the source? Really think about it. Before you let it go, get the chance to understand why you were feeling it. Why it made you sad, mad, angry. The reason you put it away is because it makes you uncomfortable. GET uncomfortable. Try it. Its helped me, because each feeling you come to understand, in all of its layers and complexities, you also begin to understand where you are coming from, and where to go from the moment you understand.
