Do you guys think I'm weird. I'm 16, and I love pokemon, especially their plush toys! In fact I got one today. Dusk form lycanroc. I love them, they are just so cute. Do you find me weird??? Am I normal??

Internal Debates
I keep fighting all the time. But not with cuts and blood and bruises. Not even with anyone else. With myself. And , not to worry, some of these debates I enjo...
Don't ever doubt yourself. You ARE weird, and that's amazing. That's a great thing. Being weird is way more fun than being normal. I have never really liked Pokémon, but there's no way in heck that I'm going to stop you from liking it.
Listen, people are going to try to change you. They're going to say that your acting childish, and tell you to grow up, but if you ask me, we already have enough boring, small-minded adults in this world.
It's really cool that you like that and that you aren't afraid to show it! I always strive to be like that, but sometimes it's hard, you know? It's difficult not to care what people think. For me, it's challenging because I feel that they aren't getting a good first impression, and that they're judging me before they even get to know me.
Don't worry, I know tons of teens and adults who like Pokémon. If you ever feel alone, in any circumstance involving TV, books, music, or similar media, remember that you'll always have a fandom on your side.
Age is just a number. Just because something is directed towards kids doesn't mean that adults and teens can't like it too. I've always loved cartoons and cheesy pop music, and you know what? I'm going to continue to like these things throughout my entire lifespan, and no one's going to stop me.
The point is, everybody has their quirks and insecurities. Everybody's got a secret love for something, so maybe if we all try to reveal those secrets, other people will feel comfortable enough to do it too!
Good luck, and don't let anybody change who you are! You are amazing!!! (Sorry, I'm feeling really perky today.) Anyways, bye!
PS: Back in the 6th grade, we were doing this thing called "Weekend Share" and I was all excited because I had finally gotten Netflix and could watch the rest of the episodes to one of my favorite shows. Plus, something had happened with a band I really liked (and still do like), and so I raised my hand, having a lot to share. However, a couple of kids in my class thought that the show was stupid and for babies, and that only girly-girls watched it (the fact that they used these terms only proves how stupid they were). This was entirely wrong, considering a great portion of the fandom was above the age of 12. While much of the fandom does consist of girls, I know a guy that likes it very much so :p. Anyways, I was a bit scared to say it, but through my small amount of confidence, I did it. I said, "Though it may be a bit embarrassing, I'm going to say it anyways..." and proceeded to tell them everything. My teacher thought it was very admirable that I felt comfortable sharing that. I was a bit embarrassed, but all in all I was glad I said it. At the end of the year, we all had to write something about each member of the class, and I got so many compliments saying that people look up to me and think I'm amazing because I'm not afraid to show what I love. So yes, people were judging me when I said that, but if you ask me, it wasn't really a bad type of judging.
ReplyPeople at your age want to be normal (this is normal) but later on you realise that is overrated and very close to be ordinary. Just do what you love and if anyone things that it is not normal, the normal thing to do is to tell them to go and fuck themselves.
ReplyRight :)
ReplyYes, you are normal. This is okay.
