I’ve just realized that I’ve surrounded myself with people who don’t believe I can achieve my dreams. They deem me stupid, and I’ve just now realized that they’re all narcissists. They don’t really believe in me or that I’ll amount to something great. I cried today because my father told me that he is there to help me with my future, because I felt so doubtful of myself. Because I believed for the longest time that I really should lower my standards. I’m in the top 5% in my class. I still barely understand my worth, I still somewhat deny it, but I now realize that i can’t let other people’s premonitions of me become what I think of me. I need to reflect on my self worth.

I'm really sorry. I grew up in a somewhat similar situation in which my mom actually discouraged me and hoped bad things for me but thankfully I prevailed. If possible, please lose the friends/people that are pulling you down and surround yourself with people that do the opposite. It's good that your father wants to help you out. You should accept his offer with open arms and really lean on him for support - assuming it's good support. It's important that you build up your self-esteem and self-confidence. Great people have tremendous self-belief in themselves up until the point most people think they're crazy. No one becomes great by listening to everyone else, it is usually those that are brave enough to venture out on their own path. If you improve your sense of self, no one can take that away, no matter how negative they are.
