2020 for me...
2020 for me was one of the worst things that happened to me... -At the beginning of the year, I lost my two bestfriends. I've found out they were talking beh...
Hi :)
Fellow doctor here..
I understand how stressful your job could be as a healthcare provider, and whereas I absolutely appreciate the service you give to your community, you clearly sound like you're tired of it.
I don't know if you've just started your career or are at the peak of it, or at the tip of it where its crumbling.
I am in no position to alleviate what you feel.. because most of what you feel is real and inevitable. I could list down a bunch of distractions for you but you must've already tried them.
But what i do know is that a better life does await you should you want to take a break for a bit.
Academically speaking, you can take a three year break from your practice and see if you can get a Ph.D in your field. If your speciality is the kind that allows you to open up a private clinic, go ahead and work on it.
Or perhaps you could try taking board exams for anywhere abroad (UK, US, Canada, Germany, France) and practice abroad for a bit (subspecialize).
And if all of this has really just worn you down, I'd advise you to either get an MPH degree or MBA, and you could completely change your career path to business.
And since we're talking about business, there might be something you would be interested in.. I want you to search up McKinsey Dubai. It would do you good.
ReplyThank u so much for the advice.. would certainly search all the avenues listed.. thank u so much for giving your time
ReplyHello.
My advice is - try taking a break to collect your thoughts. When you think about changing your profession or moving somewhere else - try to write down all the pros and cons.
From my point of view, finding your purpose in life or planning your future is difficult, people can give you advice but only you can decide what to do with your life and well, not all paths lead to ultimate success. There are many opportunities in this world, but we are not completely free to do what we want and sometimes it's really difficult to choose. For example, last year I got my Bachelors degree in History. I moved out from my hometown to live with my boyfriend in a smaller town. I love my field and the things I studied, however finding a job with a degree in History is extremely difficult in my small country (Lithuania). So I started looking for any type of work, but I've already been looking for 8 months :(( I'm considering studying something else, but as far as I can tell, all the things I want to learn or study are not very perspective and also I don't want to feel stuck doing something I hate for the rest of my life just so I could earn some money and survive.
ReplyThank u so much for your words.. would surely heed to your words
ReplyI left the doctor I had because the staff at the surgery are so nasty. I see a different doctor somewhere else now. You might not be allowed to leave India now because of this coronavirus. Find out if you can leave and if so go to the place there where you enquire about other countries you can immigrate to if you have the money. This virus is so large in India you might not be allowed to enter another country.
