My boyfriend made a comment yesterday that has really thrown me through a loop. A little over a week ago I made a joke about his farting habits to his friend. I was laughing, he was laughing, and our friend was laughing which led into another funny story about another mutual friend.. I thought nothing of it. Fast forward to yesterday and out of nowhere he brought that joke up and told me it wasn't funny nobody was laughing and that I should have stopped. This took me by surprise. I apologized but got nothing back. I asked him why he didn't let me know sooner and he went to bed. This has pushed some thoughts into my head like "Is everyone lying to me about my jokes?" "Does my boyfriend even think that I am funny?" How do I get around these negative feelings? This comment has shattered any confidence I've been able to build up while being at home for the last 6 months and just being around all of this negativity in our world.

I am always running
I hate that I am always running. I am so tired, I just want to stop and rest for a while. Yet I am panting but still running. I cannot stop. How much ever fast...

ReplyThere are many things people don't like being joked about and not everybody will find you funny. He did the right thing by not making a scene when you made the joke and instead he told you later on when you are alone that he didn't find it funny. You have to be more mindful of what you joke about. It shouldn't add to the negativity but improve you as a person to be more considerate.
