I’m not sure how long it’s been going on but sometimes I just forget to eat. There’s often nothing healthy around my house, there’s always chips, cookies, frozen foods, white bread, pasta, pizza, etc. Which obviously isn’t food that makes up a healthy diet. You don’t have to restrict that kind of food but personally I refuse to eat those kinds of foods for my every meal. And I am under 18, I live with my parents who are both incredibly unhealthy. But because of family issues and having an anxiety disorder, asking for certain foods just isn’t an easy option for me. So I’m struggling to gain weight when I’m already underweight. I really want to gain muscle too like I love working out. But I always put off eating because there were no healthy foods to eat around the house. And now I just don’t get hungry and eating something unhealthy makes me feel horrible. I don’t know what to do

Exhausted
I'm just really depressed right now. I'm 31 and I'm still not sure about my life and my future. Honestly, I'm just trying to survive every day. I have so many i...
don't do this. I have a friend who convert vegan and changed some of her beliefs. Her parents were not happy at first. They didn't really consider her new diet BUT she made the effort to bring a change and showed them how this new change made her happy. She had struggles in making food as there was less options but she made now her parents support her. All I am telling is bring the change. It seems scary and difficult at first but everything will be fine in the end. Try to bring healthy food options at home, make a new routine/diet. I hope this helps.
ReplyDo you have any money? Like 5 to 10 dollars? If so, you can easily buy healthy food at your local grocery store or farmer's market. By healthy, I mean like heads of lettuce and maybe tomatoes.
Those types of foods can be very unhealthy :/ I hate that you are unable to speak up for yourself. If you are still in school, I would suggest contacting your school about a possible meal program. Since the whole "covid" situation. Here's a little list for teens: https://discoverbrillia.com/blogs/articles/proper-teen-nutrition#:~:text=Look%20for%20protein%2Drich%20foods,and%20enable%20strong%20bone%20growth.
Supplmental vitamins work well too. Protein and Creatine.I know this isn't like solid advice like what to do or how to handle it.. but it'll at least show you where to start :)
ReplyHey there, the commenter above had a great suggestion, tell your parents you've gone vegan (even if you aren't)! It'll force them to shop healthier. And worst case, you'll have an excuse to decline eating those deep fried buttered pork ribs or whatever they make you for dinner. Seriously, some foods are so unhealthy it's better to skip it. (PS I'm in the same situation only I went vegan. They still think cheese pizzas are ok, but I guess they're trying)
ReplyOh man. I don't think I could survive half a day without food. I hope you can find a way around this pothole on your road to success!
Peace, love, potatoes!
