Is it wrong if I ask people about controversial topics or should I just never bring the topic up because ignorance is bliss??
(Serious topics like: stuff about racism, drugs, lgbtq+, climate change, morals, revenge, certain aspects of politics, etc.)
As much as I want to KNOW the person, I always end up disappointed in what the other person believes.
Like what do you do if you the other person supports something you don’t support?
And is it wrong to stop being friends with them if they do/support (drugs) but you don’t agree with that?
Because I’ve been called a bad person for cutting people off if I don’t agree with them on serious topics. And I know technically it makes me a bigot but am I just supposed to stick around someone who accepts racism or is slightly homophobic? Like I don’t support those things, but is it wrong to cut my friends off for supporting those things?

Well, it depends. Racist, homophobic, transphobic, anything phobic are all labels we put on people who disagree with our point of view.
If they're really your friends, you would care about understanding their side of the story with unbiased intentions.
They can keep their beliefs and believe whatever they want to. If they harm people because of those beliefs, then that's wrong. And they should be the ones leaving you for not agreeing with them, right?
Friendships form on personality, not political opinions
