Green, full of life, I once was
So bright l illuminated those around me
Happy child, they named me
Let me in, you said
Trust me “again”, you said
Let me be your home, you said
Blinded by the desire to veg out in your arms
Yearning to have a home
I utterly let my guard down
I know, how stupid l was
Showed me parts of your “new” self
I fell allover again,
how nice it is to be inlove
Thought you were now living in a protégé
Expected a better you
A wiser you
But then again,
expectations are everyone’s downfall
Deteriorating in your presence
Oblivious would suit you best
Sucked all the color l had
Brown and lifeless, you left me.
