There was a boy who was tired. Physically tired from the lack of sleep he got. The circles on his eyes getting darker as each day passed. His eyes carried the pain he saw everyday. Emotionally, for the many years he suffered, and suffered in silence he did. Bottled like a ship he never expressed how he felt only making him angry and violent. The smallest thing would aggravate him. Not knowing why he felt this way only enraged him more. His heart was empty yet carried his anger. Alone, he felt as if he had no one to really communicate with. The ones he called his friends did not seem to care. He had a friend he often thought of as a brother. Eventually he faded away and moved on to another person. All of his friends disappeared along with the brother. Abandoned. He no longer felt at home in the group of friends he made and grew with, like a dark red in a canvas of white. At night he frantically checked his phone for notifications from people. He hoped they were people that wanted to check up on his painful mind. He was wrong. He never looked for attention, just someone to care, someone to check on him every so often. Yet no one did, so he suffered alone. He laid in bed confused, that confusion turning to anger, then more confusion. It was an endless cycle of torment. Not knowing how to express the way he felt, he began writing. It was complicated to put his feelings into words yet he felt fluent in his keyboard. The screen his only friend to talk to. The strangers that would read and relate to his suffering soul. Too often he felt tired, too tired to write, too tired to talk. He never wanted to sleep as he never wanted to open his eyes after falling asleep. He would never consider the end, just wished for it to happen on its own. Naturally. He craved rest. An endless, peaceful rest that would satisfy his heart and mind. One that would make his body melt away in the river flowing into sea. Water felt no pain, it just flows in peace, sometimes violently. Which in turn made the water feel more peaceful when the water felt calm after the storm. Sleep like water, awake like the sky.
