I’m only 17, I have many mental health issues and I’m a white female. I spend my nights staying up talking to friends who are depressed and I do school work but I never seem to be caught up. I don’t have the motivation to eat or change clothes. I cry in the small amounts of free time I have and I always feel selfish for doing that. So please tell me why I need to be worrying about my future even more than I already am. Please tell me why I am already hearing gunshots and yelling. Please tell me why my life is endanger due to two old men fighting. Please tell me I will be able to feel safe in my own home at some point during my life. I am trying my hardest to be happy but I simply cannot take it anymore. I want to be safe. Is that too much to ask for?

I'm so sorry that you feel that way. You deserve to be treated better. We just have to know that at the end of the day, only we can help ourselves. I hope you choose to help yourself out of that situation. God bless you.
ReplyI think instead of talking to more depressed friends you should try doing things you like to do , just keep yourself busy in all that stuff so that you would have no time to think about such thing ... you can listen to some good music or start watching any interesting Netflix series . Just avoid taking to getting with more depressed people because then you will only feel bad .. I hope you do understand what I am trying to say .You try learning new things like any new language or dance or singing there is so much to do . So try thinking about the positive thing in each aspect your life . I know it is difficult but god also helps those , who are ready to help themselves;)
ReplyI start doing knitting and it helps me a lot. I'm still learning from youtube. I'm making a knitted blanket for an old man working as a security guard in my school. Helping others and trying to make their life easy actually helping me.
