Through the alignment of the stars
Another energy was created
With a body enclosed with delicate skin
Gifted with a strong pair of hidden wings
Their flesh coated with innocence
Infused with a star’s dripping essence
So unfortunate they were born
Into a place that makes no sense
So unfortunate that society
Ought to firmly bind their wings
Where a different path is not allowed
For one must always walk with the crowd
As if walking alone-
Is walking into a storm
Age six-
They were forced to practice a religion they
didn’t even know existed
No, they were not allowed to resist it
For they were told to obey the elders
Their discipline and orders-
But these children being in oblivion
Didn’t know that discipline…
Could be disguised manipulation
Age seven-
They were forced to listen
Words lingering
Told to fit in
Taught to live in fear of purge
“Attend the church
Do not lurch.
Follow my steps.
My path is the right path.”
Age thirteen-
Now they are wondering,
“Why am I being told what to believe in?”
Age fourteen-
Now they are awakening.
“Why is a ‘loving” god supposed to be terrifying?”
Age fifteen-
Now they are realizing
“Is this really how I’m supposed to be living?
In others’ reality?”
Age sixteen-
Now… they are hiding
For apparently
Ones who don’t comply are suspicious
One who can’t be controlled is…
Dangerous
Now in the darkest ebony
They live
Full of unveiled truth
They still believe
“How come they’re not afraid”
Others wonder
“Why would we be?”
They answer
“We already had the darkness inside us
Why would we be bothered by darkness…
Around us?”
“Wake up”
The demand
“Stop with your fantasy”
They insist
As if everything they see is truth and justice
As if everything they see is not mere perception
And so they were casted
As too mysterious
Too unpredictable
Too different
...too much
Every word one would be using
To describe an unstoppable being
But worry no more, little one
For you no longer have to abide
This is your life for you to decide.
Follow your own path.
In a society of clipped wings,
Let your wings unfold.
For those who soar and wander
Would discover the answer.
Soar little one
Your hands hold power
Of diamonds, gold, and treasures
That even the skies
Could never measure
Soar little one
Your mind hold endless possibilities
One that could create various realities
One that could bring even the biggest
Galaxies
Down to their knees
Soar little one
It’s time to start believing
In yourself
Although this makes people livid
Always keep in mind-
Your beliefs will always be valid
For a different path
Doesn’t mean a lost path

It's been almost
2 years....but still i never gotten over you. Maybe it's a good thing that i'm back here in Philippines, at least i rarely see someone wearing a hijab, i rarely...
The reality is religion is like art - one man's expression of his theology versus another man's expression of his theology, kind of like a Monet versus a Picasso - 2 different styles of expression. And there are lots of religions around the world...which can look corny to the highly intelligent or can look false after so many hypocrisy revealing scandals involving religious leaders. Also, sadly nothing divides like religion - because people are so passionate about "their religion" that they become extremists (see history of Spain and Turkey for a history lesson on "coexisting"); this type of behavior is not corny, but rather irrational, since after all we are not killing each other over other forms of expression, such as a Picasso versus a Monet. The former and the latter are the reasons most people become atheists...in parts of the world where you have the free will to choose atheism, meaning someone will not behead you if you do not submit to the national religion.
For all the tons and tons of scripture religious leaders preach and all the rituals religious followers practice in public, a man who walked the earth 2000 years ago made it abundantly simple, no religion required.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1. Love God first and foremost.
2. Love your fellowman as you love yourself (women are not off the hook, this includes you).
- Matthew 22:36-40
NOTE: To my knowledge, Christ Jesus was not trying to create a "religion" for he was Jewish after all - his apostles and their followers throughout history created Christianity and man then spun up X number of flavors of Christianity by taking 1 verse/page/book here and there and labeling it First A-Z Church of Christ. Man (scoffing). For no other cause does man kill with such zeal than for that of religion.
Christ Jesus' message to the world was about love (and the sacrifice inherent to love), and then he was crucified by his fellowmen.
ReplyI wrote this post as a way of expressing the trauma I've been through due to religion. My family burdened me to conform to their expectations and if I didn't, I'd be forced to go to a religious conversion camp. I do not believe in the Christian God, though I respect anyone and everyone who does. This "loving" God has never been there for me and following along the Christian practices, I felt it was a chore rather than praising the almighty. I admire many religious works of art and literature, I just don't believe the scripture behind it. I believe in following along the path you choose for yourself is the way you should go. And for me, that is light witchcraft. I am in tune with nature and how it affects me and how I affect it. I use natural remedies, bake, go on walks, write, and do art using nature. I am aware of how witchcraft is spoken about in the Bible, but I do not practise Satanism, but rather the paganism that existed far before Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, or anything else.
All in all, I respect others and I expect respect from others. I do not judge based off of religion, and I do not like when people try to pressure me to conform to any one particular religion. I am me, and you are you. Nothing will ever change that.
