You should really be kinder to yourself, to your soul. At the same time I'm fed up of telling myself what to do. You should have a boyfriend, you should buy a house, you should get your license, you should be exceeding targets at work, you should stop overthinking, you should be happy.
How can you find happiness when you're forever chasing the next best thing?
Take a moment to truly step outside of your mind and body and take a look at all the things around you.
You've come pretty far since failing your exams and losing a group of friends haven't you?
But you took control of the situation. Without you, there is no you.
I remember being in therapy and the counsellor told me to take my shoes off the next time I go to a park so that I can really feel the grass beneath me.
Take a break, remember to breathe.
Get away from screens (she says whilst typing on one).
Think of your simple pleasures... a nice warm shower or fresh bed sheets to crawl into at the end of the day or even for a lunch time nap.
Just don't beat yourself up so much. If a friend came to you for advice, would you speak to them the way you speak to yourself?
Ultimately it's you that you live for so keep going and don't be blinded by what you think you need but rather express gratitude for the things you love.
