Boundaries

As I get older, I'm learning the importance of boundaries. Some people think you will always let them walk all over you, that they can always get what they want from you. It is these people who don't care how much they take and never seem to give. When you say no, maybe they get mad and insult you, maybe they ignore you and ghost you. And that's okay. Why? Because when you deny an excessive taker, you protect your energy. And when you protect your energy, it protects you. So, this is to all the takers in my life: I'm not the type to say what you wanna hear. Not anymore. For a while, at least for you, it was about control. And you were in it, draining my energy and sucking the life out of me when all I wanted was to be loved by you. Now, I'm the one in control. Now, no matter what you say, no matter how you try to persuade me, I'll always tell you "no." And it's only because I love you. But I'm just sick of you not loving me back... Boundaries.
