Iām 22 years old who became a shift leader at my job like 3 months ago and my boss is one of the most supportive persons in my life currently aside from my family of course. But my co workers talk bad about her theyāre mean tbh. She sometimes yes makes mistakes in the workplace like when she has to order more merchandise for work. She decided to do it herself instead because the employees order too much. Itās not their money so they donāt care. Not their business so they donāt care! So as a shift leader I also help to enforce the rules and try to have my bossās back. Thereās another shift leader lady who is about 44; letās call her āChantalā and sheās a shift leader who talks bad about my boss sometimes. She says omg āshe doesnāt know what sheās doing with her businessā she so stingy!! Why is she charging so much! Why is she doing this. Or like omg sheās crazy. Chantal told me once, I know you look up to our boss letās name her ājadeā but she doesnāt know anything. Our old boss used to do this and that. And to be honest yes I do look up to my boss, in the end; whoās making more money than all of us? I want a business myself and I donāt know anyone that can ever guide me. If I look for people to guide me towards the right direction theyāll charge me a bunch of money. And yes my boss is careful with her money so what?? I am too. I think everyone, why are they judging her? My boss has been there for me emotionally and literally in situations that the employees donāt need to know. But they think Iām being a kiss ass for being there for my boss when in reality Iām just trying to thrive and get experience in the business for when I have one myself. I have so many plans ahead. They do make things harder for me because Iām the only one who tries to be strict as a shift leader, Chantal letās them do whatever they want.

Am sas
Hey there am new here and am sad so sad even am thinking about ending my life. I used to be a very happy positive girl but then things didn't went right! I even...
It's really none of their business what your boss does. They're just talking bad about her because they're probably jealous and of your relationship maybe. I've saw it in the workplace many times all people wanna do is tear a good thing down for jealousy or spite. Don't think Chantal needs to be a leader from the sound of it. From their perspective however it may seem you are too hard on them but so was one of my bosses like a military drill sergeant nobody liked that. You can still be chill with people and do the job right both boss /leader and co-workers...not just talk trash like they're doing. Anyway maybe they need to know you're just trying to help your boss do things the right way as they want them done. They must be a good boss to be there emotionally for you as a person. Most bosses I've known aren't that way.
ReplyYes the thing is I actually kept my word when I was promoted to shift leader and I keep endorsing the rules such as no phone, no standing around when itās slow, I put them to clean. I donāt yell at them either but these employees have bad habits and are older cooks and cashiers that donāt like to be told to clean their mess. Basically it, those are the things that I try to enforce and Chantal doesnāt. Iām chill with people, I consider myself to have a good relationship with most but when it comes to cleaning and telling them what to do they get all defensive. It bothers me when they talk bad about her in front of me, they try to convince me that sheās not that great! I feel it. But I donāt fall for it. My mom has always taught me to be grateful and Iām grateful that my boss has my back.
