What are you looking for?

I'll listen to you if your in desperate need
But sometimes if someone is the opposite to ugly then it's just my greed
I want you to be true to me
But if in thought and feeling and action I was true I wouldn't feel so free
I want the highest love, but from the dirt on the floor I'm not so high above
I mean how can I embrace you and all your flaws
Or you me and all the things you might deplore
My parents did their best, but I'm not free from feelings of detest
I value higher things than money
But if your making more than me, I don't find that funny
How many blessings come our way
Yet we can't escape the feeling that if we don't grow and achieve something then one day we will have to pay
How can I expect supreme joy
When sometimes our greatest lessons follow after we've been destroyed
But isn't the will to seek pain really quite innane?
Who will love me in this decrepit state?
When insignificant mediocrity becomes my default fate?
Let me leave it here and my hope despite the sullenness is for someone to find some cheet
