so here it is my dad passed away a few months ago i am in my sophomore year i have decided to study medicine because i am genuinely interested in it my mom is proud but all i hear from my brother is neither do i have the brains nor ability to study all i am going to do is waste money i do have faith in myself being a mediocre student doesnt mean i cant all he does is demotivates me it wont change my decision but it me mentally unhealthy its just makes me cry everyday all i have left is the belief in myself

ReplyNegativity is always seen as stronger than positivity. I know he is your brother, and one might want their sibling to acknowledge them and show appreciation. But that's not always the case :/ It sucks but it is what it is.
If you are interested in something, use all your devotion for it. There will always be people who judge you and your choices, whether it be a family member, a friend, an acquaintance or a stranger. Everyone's a critic. But it's up to you whether you use their negativity to pump yourself up and challenge to make yourself even better. Use their negative energy as a positive source for your betterment.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I'm sure he is proud of you making your life choices in such an independent manner.
