School is stressing me out. I go into school every other day and the days im not in school i do school virtually. When i do school virtually i don't have the motivation to do the work, but i don't want to go into school every single day because i've gotten used to only going in every other day. Honestly, going into school gives me anxiety. My parents are always yelling at me and telling me i need to do better in school but i can't, i can't focus and i just don't want to do the work. i want to become an actress but im pretty sure my parents don't believe in me. they won't let me do anything i want to do. i want to be free. i want to learn how to play the electric guitar, i want to become an actress, i want to do something fun with my life. i only have 1 more year of high school after this and i don't want to go to college. what's the point of wasting money on college if its not going to take me in the direction i want to go? i want to start acting but i don't know how to. I've been dreaming about being an actress since i was in 7th grade (im in 11th now). Everytime I've told my mom about this she just laughs. someone please help me start acting.

There's acting and finer arts school too, you know? You can actually get a degree in that. Many people say that it actually helps when you're auditioning in something.
ReplyWhat kind of acting (tv, commercials, voice-overs, narrations, motion capture, stage, theatre, movies, live performances)? Many in California going after this lifestyle are living in their cars because of how expensive everything is. I knew artists who were very capable, disciplined, experienced, but did not hit it big; met a movie extra also who had to be ready to halt his life at a moment's notice when the studios called. If you want to get into acting, place yourself in a director's mindset: What are you selling, to whom, what are the interests of the intended audience, what do you need to do to complete an experience for your audience (skills to learn, an aesthetic to define, a unique trait of your appearance to highlight, presentation method)? As an actor, you will benefit greatly in being an entrepreneur in mindset, so I recommend taking business courses or a business major in college. It sounds incredibly boring, but it helps build a better understanding of how to operate your brand and within a bigger organization. You will have a way to finance your acting interests early on as well, to go into business for yourself, or to build your abilities to get hired at a studio. You have options, and you can absolutely go into acting; ready your plan, have work arrangements as you get ready, take time to practice and study your craft, and keep working at it piece by piece. Let love guide in all things, and know that we love you.
