I'm sorry for this long rant, but please, if you have time, hear me out.
When will I stop being a criminal in 70 countries (punishable by death in 12) for being a girl who likes girls?
When will every state in my country allow basic rights to us LGBTQ folk? Some states still ban gay marriage, and in some (including my own) still allow the "Gay panic defense," where someone kills or assaults a person of LGBTQ and claims it was because of "Unwanted same-sex sexual activity."
When will transgender people be able to live their life as whatever gender they want without people purposefully acting transphobic and misgendering them?
When will LGBTQ kids stop being kicked of their own homes by the people who are supposed to love them most, their parents and families?
When will innocent people of color stop having to face racist remarks and disappointing police officers who kill them for no reason and get away with it? (No not all cops are bad, so hopefully no white supremacists think I'm saying that.)
When will we have to stop being scared to go out and be who we are without hearing slurs and knowing that we could die at any moment?
When will us girls not get slut shamed for wearing a revealing outfit. When will we not get blamed with the "You were asking for it with that outfit."
When will men be able to like feminine things and show emotions without being seen as weak, or gay? When will they be believed when they get abused?
Why do us LGBTQ folk have to hide and be shamed for simply holding hands or kissing in public, meanwhile straight people can do much more and get away with it?
It is homophobic to say "I support LGBTQ but I don't want one in my family," because if you really supported LGBTQ, then you wouldn't mind one in your family.
It is homophobic to say, "Well as long as you don't get a crush on me, that's fine." Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they have a crush on every one of the same gender. Just like how straight people aren't attracted to everybody of the opposite sex.
It is homophobic to say "I don't like gays who make being gay their entire personality." It is homophobic to say "I hate gay men" and then continue to watch lesbian p**n. Lesbian p**n is fetsihization, and your only an ally if you support ALL parts of the community.
It is not okay when you make up sexualities such as "animesexual" or "Tiktoksexual." Sexuality is only based on what genders you like. No, we do not claim pedos as they are 1, not having an actual sexuality, and 2, are literally disgusting. The fact that people want in on the community for being criminals is disgusting and another reason why we are not very accepted?
It is also very stupid when you say, "Well it's in the bible that gays are bad." First of all: Not everyone believes in God and the Bible, so isn't that technically forcing your religion on someone else? I thought you guys were too busy complaining about how the gays were "forcing their gay agenda on the kids" or something, lmao. Second: Doesn't it also say that you should love everyone? Also, in the constitution it says that "All men are created equal." (Men meaning humans in general.)
No, heterophobia doesn't exist. There is a different between straight people and The Straights™. Straight means someone who's attracted to someone of the opposite gender. The Straights are straight people who are anti-LGBTQ and very stupid.
And yes, trans men are real men. Trans women are real women. Enbies are real humans.
When will you privileged people wake up and realize you have it so much better, and that people aren't given the equality I need? When will I, a minor, not have to worry about getting catcalled by creepy old men, or by being called slurs for loving someone?
When will I be able to come out without the fear that my "supportive parents" are still gonna act homophobic, or worse, my peers and classmates will harass me everyday and the teachers won't do anything?
When will things actually start to progress forward? Yes things are a little better than the 60s, but that's only a very small difference for some!
America, "land of the free" my ass.
-Sincerely, a demisexual lesbian who lives in a red state.

Okay, if you post a homophobic/racist/sexist comment I might not argue, so don't come here expecting an argument. If I do argue, then don't act like it's a big deal, because I will mostly likely only argue because your being a hypocrite in your comment.
It took a lot of courage to keep these comments on, even though I know I'll probably hear some slurs.
Reply(Appreciated that lil ‘enbies are real humans’, thanks!)
Honestly, you’re right. So many common attitudes towards our community are just...appalling. I do see things getting better though, and starting to pick up speed - even if it’s just on a small scale. One day, it’s all gonna be ok, even if we aren’t there to see it. For now, we can stay passionate and fight so that the next generations will have it easier. Those hateful, discriminatory mentalities are going to die out one way or another.
Reply(Yay! I'm really glad I made someone happy with that.)
Yes, it's true. One day homophobia won't exist. I'm still quite young so I might be able to see that day, and I'd like to see that day, but if I don't, I'll atleast love to see the next few generations grow up happily.
ReplyEdit: *Demiromantic not demisexual because my sexuality changed again oops
ReplyEdit #2: I'm both demiromantic and demisexual.
