I’m 15 and last year I had a horrible experience at the doctors. I have this rare disorder that causes joint pain, dislocations, and other health problems. I broke my vertebrae in my spine and bruised my spine and I couldn’t handle the pain after a year so my doctor referred me to this other doctor. He wanted to give me steroid shots and I was iffy because my collagen is weak and bendy and steroid shots damage it more and people with my disorder have had bad experiences. I decided to do it once because it was only supposed to numb my nerves so my body could heal. When we did it I was in a surgical room without my mom and was laying on my stomach. He gave me 8 shots in total in the same 4 places and the first 4 shots were the numbing shots. The numbing shots didn’t work at all and it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life and then he did the other shots and they were touching my nerves so it was super painful. Afterwords it hurt to move or get up and I had to stay there for around 15-30 minutes because my blood pressure was really high and on the way home it hurt when my mother drove and the doctor didn’t give me any pain medication and a few nurses called him dumb due to it. Whenever I think about the experience it gets me very upset and I’m not sure why because I’ve had bad experiences but it doesn’t hurt me in the way this one does. I’m just not sure how to get over it and move on.

Young one , you will be alright . The pain is not worse then what your disorder has caused you or would have ended up causing you . I have had needles in my back . And there is a lot of pressure . You still feel the pressure and sometimes that’s painful. As to the initial needles yes they hurt but after you healed you should feel much better . I had two csections which I had spinal taps for both . And when I tried to get out of bed it hurt like heck and I thought my guts would fall out . I didn’t have any pain meds because I was gonna breastfeed my babies . And it was the worst pain but I Realize that that pain was necessary for me to heal and do it was best for my babies. Now although you’re not having babies you’re still in a lot of pain but that medicine was to do you good yes your collagen is weak but you were in a ton of pain and this medicine is supposed to help I’ll be praying for you
