I was 18 working nonstop I met a guy 28 years old who stopped me on the street and asked me for my number we dated for 2 weeks realized it will never work. We stay as just friends. He offered me to help to pay part of my studies so I can go to college he said you’ll pay me when you have a job. I accepted my parents knew all this and met him and realized he was a good person. To everyone I would say that he’s only my brother non blood related ( is common in my country to call aunts and uncles to people that are not blood related to you ) he had serious relationships and bring his gf to my parents house for lunch and everything was always fine just family eating together he met many of my bf and got along with them everyone knew he was not my real brother but treated him like he was. Everything is okay. 10 years later I met the love of my life my now husband and he loves my brother and they get along quite well. But even tho he knows he’s not my real brother he is thankful bc he knows my brother has made possible supporting my parents and me to finish my degree so everything is okay . But now I feel remorse because I feel I should tell my husband that my non brother and I dated 10 years ago but never worked or where In love and even if seems ridiculous I don’t want my husband to hate me or divorce me so idk what to do

Hi, that’s a tricky dilemma. But first may I ask: what is the purpose in telling your husband? In other words, what will it accomplish?
If you & your husband are happy with each other, the way you are, & the way you were when you met, then maybe there’s no need to dig up your past.
I’m just suggesting this because my partner & I have an unspoken agreement that the past is irrelevant. Moving forward is what life is about. So I would say, if your husband is happy, you shouldn’t upset that. You didn’t do anything wrong and no one was hurt, so there’s nothing to “confess”.
ReplyThank you 🙏🏽 so much I had a heart to heart with my husband and he told me that my past doesn’t matter to him and we agreed that we don’t need to know each other’s past and just continue with loving each other and being happy
ReplyHey it's me replying back. OMG he sounds like a dream! I hope you two have the best lives together, you're off to a great start :)
