This will be embarrassing. Really embarrassing.
Here we go.
I have a pop obsession. Specifically with Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber's music.
Oh dear. Alright, deep breath.
So, I have songs playing in my head all day long. Everyday. I can't sleep at night because the music won't go away.
As long as I'm not actively speaking or listening to something else, there will be songs in my head.
And that is awful, because I'm losing control of my own brain. All I can do is switch between songs and that's it. I cannot make them leave.
That makes tests awful. You cannot speak the questions out loud, because, test, and there is nothing else to focus on.
So, I'm trying to solve a quadratic with 'I don't wanna live forever' playing in my head at the same time.
How do I stop this?
Please help.
And if your answer is 'Music is beautiful, if it's in your head that's a good thing' I know that.
But I don't want it here.
So please, tell me some way to be able to focus on things other than the music.

the most simple advice could be: stop listening to it.
honestly, my exams were nearer but I couldn't concentrate because of the songs playing in my head. you know, then I switched genres....I started to listen to lofi music, classical music, 80's, 60's music, Elvis Presley, mama cass...etc. etc. and that actually helped. because you see, these days music is so fucking catchy, like even if the song has no meaning and lyrics are totally pathetic, the whole song is catchy, but the old music is not that catchy and it is good.
good luck mate :)
ReplyThank you! I will stop, definitely.
ReplyHaha I once had a song stuck in my head for FIVE. YEARS.
No exaggeration. I was considering telling a shrink. But it just sorta went away. Don't worry too much. If your mind is stuck on 1 repeat, maybe find some new music to flood your brain and rinse it out :)
ReplyThank you for your advice!
