Underastemated

I always have to scream to be heard

They see me as a wingless bird

As a dry waterfall

As if I'm nothing at all

Because I'm not an echo

Because I can say no

I have my own opinions, ethics and morals

My own heart, brains and soul

Appearances deceive

I'm intelligent and strong

You better believe

After what I've been fighting for so long

So I will scream for an eternity

If that's really necessary

If I need to break all the glass for my voice to get through

So be it
