I finally figured out what's happening to me
and I think I'm too late.
Today I felt everything, I wasn't even procrastinating so I didn't know why I couldn't do anything but then I realized
Burnout
My entire being can't do anything and I can't relax, even if I do I wake up back in the same state.
I have university work to do and I have group work to do. I mentally can't do anything, I have already cost my grade and I know I'm gonna fail one of my courses but now this is gonna hurt my groupmates. My groupmate, 1 has already dropped to not burden the group but it made everyone else's work even harder. I'm not that smart but I want to try I can't just abandon everything.
I can't take a break either since everything is due literally tomorrow and then it snowballs into more due dates after that.
I know I can back out but that's not an option anymore. I have to get over these 5 days before I crash. I feel dumb, I can't even open up a stupid google doc, or a google slide.
I even have an individual essay that is due in 4 days that's worth like 30%. Everything is either 20% or 30% and I can't think anymore.
Pls anyone know what I need to do or what can help me. I need a functioning brain for few days pls help

Here’s what works for me when I can’t seem to focus or find motivation!
1. Set a time to start schoolwork with no distractions.
2. Find classical music to listen to (Scientific studies show it increases focus. I recommend Ludovico Einaudi - Experience).
3. Clean your desk/working area
4. Follow the schedule below.
5 minutes - schoolwork
3 minutes - break
10 minutes - schoolwork
5 minutes - break
20 minutes - schoolwork
And so on
During schoolwork time, do as much work as you can and keep your phone out of sight.
During break time, walk around, drink and/or eat something.
I hope everything works out for you! Even if you don’t manage to get all of your work done, you’ll be able to reorient yourself and things will turn out fine. Best of luck :)

ReplyFirst of all, I understand you're struggle sometimes getting out of bed already but you can make it, i truly believe that. As for those next five days....try drugs, I know that sounds lame and dumb but some ritalin or other adhd medication is gonna work wonders. I hope you'll get through that phase and make it and btw in this global crisis it's okay to take more time to graduate.
ReplyWoah I don’t think that’s a good suggestion...You should always look to behavior or routine changes before medication. Also where would they even get ritalin in such a short time span-
