I'm lost. Always figuring out what makes me happy. But truly nothing is making me happy. When there is no work from my workplace, I do not know how to spend time. I just wish to lie in my bed and sleep. Is it normal? Not getting motivated, self-care love, growing enough is making me anxious. I do not wish to do anything and I'm lost. I never procrastinate but now it seems I am procrastinating for the past many months.
Writing here is a bit helping me since I am not being judged for my thoughts and lack of motivation. I feel like I am dead inside and only alive for others. I know my problems are acute than others but I want to work on them otherwise they will grow big and by then it will be difficult for me to be in control.

ReplyThis is not uncommon. I have felt like this a lot over lockdown. It is really difficult to motivate yourself sometimes. Personally I have a list of 'tasks' that I do everyday. Like Wash, excersize, eat 3 meals, read a book, walk outside. I keep them simple and i have a little book where i tick them off when I do it. It helps me to feel a bit of a sense of achievement and when you are doing all these things that are healthy for your body it can make it easier to find the motivation for other things. Its easier said than done though, sometimes I want to sleep the days away because i don't know how else to fill that time. Nutrition and sleep have big impacts on your mental health too and your energy and motivation also. It isn't easy but only you can make a difference really. Maybe also talking to someone like a counsellor or therapist will help because it is talking to someone without judgement and it can feel really good. Personally I think everybody could benefit from counseling although a lot of people think it is reserved for people who have serious mental health concerns. Do you have other people in your life too? socialising has a huge impact on your mental health and anxiety. I dont try to make myself happy anymore, I just look after myself and try to make the people around me happy. Happiness is contagious, put some good out into the world and you might get some back in return.
