So I won a writing contest last year. Was a pretty big deal, especially at my school. The thing is, that I was writing this short story when I was at a pretty low point in my life, but everyone seemed to love it somehow.
Now, the contest is also going to be this year. Of course I want to participate, but there is this invisible weight on my shoulders like I have to win, or else everyone will think I'm some kind of loser, who was lucky once.
And that's our next point, I have absolutely no idea what to write. I am also a year older now, so I should have become better. I still don't know what to write about. It's like I don't have writer's block but I do. Any ideas?

Maybe write about how it feels to feel how you feel?
About stress?
And never feel like you're obligated to do something just because other people might think something of you. If you've already won once, that's gotta mean you're an amazing writer! Just do what makes you happy.
You are the center of your world. It doesn't matter who else is in your life and what they think. Because only you will be with yourself forever. Other people won't be in your life forever, so they don't matter.
Make yourself happy.
Just you.
ReplySweetie, from a fellow writer, never write to impress others. Because if you try your hardest to write something that others will like, and then they don't, you'll end up thinking 'Maybe I should have just done what I wanted to'
As for the block - here's what works for me : My favourite genre is family comedy. That's basically authors like Roald Dahl and Ruskin Bond. Whenever I have writer's Block, I make an over the top hilarious as hell story about my family. The last one was about a camping trip where a skunk sneaked into my tent and my cousin managed to launch herself to the center of a lake in our only boat.
Write something random in the genre you like the best. It might help.
